A variety of field and hands-on experiences are available as part of your degree, including optional cooperative learning experiences/internships, a study abroad program offering academic credit for study of the criminal justice system in another country, and site visits to a variety of criminal justice agencies to meet with practitioners in the field. 

WilmU also recognizes the value of your on-the-job training and prior learning. Police officers can earn academic credit for previous training, reducing the time and cost needed to complete your degree.

Accelerate Your Criminal Justice Degree With Law Enforcement Experience and Training Credits 

WilmU recognizes the value of your on-the-job training and prior learning. Experienced officers can earn up to 12 credits for Basic Police Academy training, reducing both the time and cost to complete your Criminal Justice degree. Additional law enforcement trainings and leadership programs may also qualify for credit, and officers with more than 5 years of experience can complete CRJ 350 through a self-paced option.
